News Golden LEAF Foundation Grantee ForumKeynote SpeakerJim Clinton, Executive Director Southern Growth Policies Board Jim Clinton is executive director of the Southern Growth Policies Board, a public policy think tank located in Research Triangle Park, NC, dedicated to developing economic policies and regional initiatives to improve the quality of life in the South. Clinton joined the Board in 1999 as head of the Southern Technology Council, the advisory council on innovation and technology policy issues. His policy expertise includes university-industry technology transfer, technology and entrepreneurship, and state economic development policy. He has served as lead author for publications including Reinventing the Wheel, The Mercedes and the Magnolia, The Southern Innovation Index and Invented Here: Transforming the Southern Economy. Previously, Clinton lived in Baton Rouge, LA, where
he served as president of the Louisiana Partnership for
Technology and Innovation and president of Gulf South
Research Institute.
