Location: Rocky Mount, NC
Job Description:
The Golden LEAF Foundation is seeking to hire an Investment Analyst, who will work closely with the Director of Investments, to help oversee the Foundation's investment portfolio of approximately $600 million. The portfolio is highly diversified with meaningful allocations to alternative asset classes such as hedge funds, private equity and real assets, in addition to traditional asset classes such as domestic and international stocks and bonds.
The Investment Analyst will act as a generalist across all asset classes and be expected to provide input across all facets of the investment process. Other responsibilities will include:
- Generate reports and charts for investment manager evaluation, portfolio analysis, and performance measurement. Prepare presentations for the Investment Committee.
- Perform relevant administrative activities (i.e. write letters and minutes, set up meetings, process legal documents, maintain files, track contacts and manager meetings, etc.).
- Provide qualitative and quantitative monitoring of investment managers, the custodian bank, the investment consultant, and other pertinent relationships.
- Conduct investment partnership/manager searches independently and with external consultant. Assist in the identification, evaluation, selection, and monitoring of investment managers. These responsibilities include interviewing and developing dialogues with managers, reviewing placement and marketing materials, making on-site due diligence trips, attending manager conferences and annual meetings, completing reference checks, etc. Draft reports detailing investment recommendations and actions.
- Investigate and undertake special projects as requested, related to both investment and grant programs.
- Act as a positive and effective part of the Foundation team, working to elevate the Foundation, create resourceful relationships and further the Foundation's mission.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong desire to be a part of a nonprofit organization, and contribute to the betterment of North Carolina.
- Strong analytical skills, as well as the drive to solve complex problems.
- Talented at gathering and exploiting resources at minimum expense to complete projects.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; work well independently and in a team environment.
- Institutional investment experience preferred; familiarity with a wide range of investments, including alternative assets.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired.
- Ability to work with and meet deadlines.
Education:
Bachelors required. A CFA designation or working towards this designation is strongly desired.
