Golden LEAF News - August 2009

Greetings!

The Golden LEAF Foundation has received over 90 letters of inquiry for the Open Grants Program and 14 applications for the most recent deadline for the Golden LEAF Opportunities for Work (GLOW) program. We are grateful for the level of interest and will assess all proposals thoroughly and fairly, especially given the tough economic times.

The first round of GLOW grants are already in full swing, training potential employees for available jobs across North Carolina. Graduates are expected to be ready to join NC's workforce as soon as Fall 2009.

September 15th is the next deadline for Economic Catalyst applications. This program is tied to job creation projects AT RISK without Golden LEAF support and has very specific guidelines for eligible projects. Please review the information on the Economic Catalyst cycle by clicking here. We encourage you contact Ted Lord tlord@goldenleaf.org or Mark Sorrells msorrells@goldenleaf.org to discuss your project before submitting an application.

An outreach video explaining Golden LEAF's Open Grants Program priorities and processes can be accessed by clicking here.
