Northeast Region

With serene inland waterways, miles of sandy beaches, and unlimited outdoor and cultural activities, the Northeast region is known to millions as a prime vacation spot, second home, or retirement destination.

With economic opportunity abounding in automotive, aviation, boatbuilding and marine trades, heritage tourism, inner coastal development, life sciences, and biotechnology, the Northeastern Region offers potential profitability to both small and large companies.

But the region does run up against some obstacles. For example, the physical infrastructure is lacking and the levels of poverty and low educational attainment are challenges to overcome.

Through grantsmaking, Golden LEAF has helped to create jobs and investment opportunities and improve educational offerings in the Northeastern region. For example, Golden LEAF funds assisted in bringing a Lowe’s regional distribution center to the area.
