NC COVID-19 Resources

As challenges continue to unfold surrounding the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Golden LEAF will provide links to valuable information, guidance and resources.

Golden LEAF Operations Update

The Golden LEAF Foundation is carefully and continually monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it is impacting the state of North Carolina. While our Golden LEAF offices are currently open, we are mindful of and following the applicable stay at home orders. Many of our team are now working from home and are available by email. If you need to reach any of us, you can access our emails by clicking here. For those of us at the office, we are practicing appropriate social distancing.

Our team continues to administer grants and process new applications, progress reports, and payment requests as they are received, along with carrying out the other important work of the foundation. We are assisting grantees who are unable to meet project goals or timelines due to obstacles as a result of COVID-19. If you are a current Golden LEAF grantee experiencing such challenges, please email your Golden LEAF point of contact for help. (When emailing, please put your Golden LEAF project number in the subject line. This will make responding to your request easier.)

We will continue posting any additional Golden LEAF operational updates on our website www.goldenleaf.org, where you will also find a page for COVID-19 resources that you can also access by clicking here.

This is a challenging time for our state and our country. We remain strong when we work together. We are here for you and look forward to our continued partnership.

Golden LEAF Coronavirus (COVID-19) Support:
Thank you for your interest in the NC COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan. We have received applications in excess of our current funding and are actively seeking additional funding to expand the program. Applications already submitted are being processed in the order they were received. You are welcome to continue with your application, and we will review it as additional funding becomes available.

On March 23, 2020, the Golden LEAF Foundation Board of Directors approved $15 million in funding to launch the NC COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan Program, managed by the NC Rural Center.

The NC COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan Program will make loans to eligible businesses for up to $50,000 with zero interest and no payments for six months. If not repaid in six months, the loan will automatically convert to a term loan.

Participating Rapid Recovery lenders include Business Expansion Funding Corporation (BEFCOR), Carolina Small Business Development Fund, Mountain BizWorks, Natural Capital Investment Fund, and Thread Capital.
