Workforce Preparedness & Education

Golden LEAF supports workforce projects that help close the skills gap and increase the pool of highly qualified individuals with skills aligned to North Carolina businesses’ current and future needs. We fund projects that demonstrate a market demand for skilled workers and aim at developing skill sets required by businesses looking to locate or expand in rural communities. In education, Golden LEAF focuses on graduating students from high school and college with the technical and life skills necessary to enter work.

Vance-Granville and many other rural community colleges have been able to meet the demands that local companies have for skilled people because of Golden LEAF assistance. Golden LEAF has provided over $90 million across the state for these efforts, making the difference for those who are trying to get good jobs and support their families.
