Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for Surry County Schools to assist with the purchase of laptop computers and bags for all 9th graders in the Surry County school system. School officials are working to implement a technology program throughout the district which will result in a 1:1 learning environment in all high school classrooms. Plans include providing grades 9 and 10 with computers acquired by the school district and exploring new strategies to ensure that computers are available for 11th and 12th graders. The system has also implemented Project Lead the Way in the high schools.
