Description:

This grant will assist Lenoir County Public Schools with the purchase of classroom technology, support for professional development for teachers, and increase parental involvement. Twenty-first century technology will be established in core middle and high school classrooms. With the use of this technology, teachers can immediately review assessments, analyze student needs and provide real-time instructional interventions allowing students to be able to receive updates and assistance in areas where help is needed. Additionally, parents can have immediate access to student progress information, teacher forums and will benefit from improved communication with teachers. It is anticipated that student engagement and interest in learning will increase as a result of this project. Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase augmented Computer Cart systems and support professional development for school personnel
