Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the NC Ag. Foundation for support of the ASPIRE program, which assists students with career interests in agriculture from tobacco-dependent, economically distressed and/or rural counties pursue a college education by improving their performance on the ACT College Admissions Entrance Examination. The program also exposes those students to opportunities in agricultural studies and careers, and assists students with the college application process. This program will train 4-H agents to teach ACT prep courses to students, with the hope of serving up to 1,000 students annually.
