Description:

The U.S. Dept. of Education has awarded Montgomery County Schools an Investing in Innovation (i3) grant in the amount of nearly $3 million to transition the district to a digital learning environment. The purpose of this grant is to provide matching funds that will be used to install additional wireless infrastructure and support professional development for teachers. The focus of the project will be to integrate technology into instructional practice to aid in closing the achievement gaps and educational barriers faced by rural students that lack access to technology for the development of 21st century skills needed to compete in today’s technology-based and globally competitive employment market.
