Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will assist Richmond Community College with the purchase of equipment to advance its automation training capabilities to a level expected by industry to produce a highly skilled workforce. Equipment purchased through this project will help students develop the following skills: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, PLC interfacing, PLC trouble-shooting, and system installation. The equipment acquired through the grant will allow RCC to provide comprehensive training programs that emphasize skills identified by local and regional employers. RCC is partnering with the Richmond and Scotland County school systems to develop a Career and Technical Pathway in Automation through the Career and College Promise program.
