Amount:
$150,652.79
Program Area:
Open Grants Program
County of Applicant:
Caldwell
Year:
2019
Description:

The purpose of this grant is to assist Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCCTI) with funding that would enable community college students to train on advanced manufacturing equipment within a simulated machining lab. In 2018, CCCTI responded to increased industry demand for highly-skilled machinists by developing an advanced manufacturing center and adding a Computer Integrated Machining concentration under its Industrial Systems Technology program. The initial phase of program development included building renovation and equipment purchases. A second phase of renovation and equipment purchasing is necessary to offer the full range of courses and training necessary to meet local industry standards and ensure the best opportunity for job placement of program graduates. Golden LEAF funds will be used for program-related equipment.
