Description:

This grant provides funding to North Carolina Central University (NCCU) to help NCSTEM ID provide professional development in STEM education for middle and high school teachers. It will also offer STEM engagement opportunities for students from Nash, Edgecombe, and Martin counties. Student activities will include local summer STEM camps, field trips and internship opportunities at the Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) at NCCU, and local STEM Days. It will also create a pipeline for students to filter into STEM educational programs at local community colleges and the BRITE Program at the NC Central University. Golden LEAF funds will be used for personnel, field trips, supplies, and other program costs.
