Organization:
Reinvestment Partners
Amount:
$40,000.00
Program Area:
Open Grants Program
County of Applicant:
Durham
Year:
2018
Description:

This grant will allow Reinvestment Partners to expand its cooler space at the Bull City Cool Food Hub, which provides office space and shared-use cold and frozen storage space for local farm products, and offers key connections in the local and regional food system for small farms, small businesses, and nonprofits. The current cold storage space is not adequate to meet the needs of clients, including organizations such as Farmer Foodshare, which in 2017 worked with 45 farmers in 21 counties. Golden LEAF funds will also be used by Reinvestment Partners to provide technical assistance to local food businesses.
