City of Laurinburg North Fire Station

Organization:
City of Laurinburg
Amount:
$1,625,000.00
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Scotland
Year:
2019
Description:

Flooding from Hurricane Florence damaged the city’s North Fire Station. Because the building is located in the floodplain, the city is exploring construction of a replacement station out of the floodplain instead of repairing the damaged building. Golden LEAF grant funds may be used for the construction of the replacement station, including associated professional fees for design and engineering, or for repair of the existing station should the city decide to remain at that location. FEMA Public Assistance and city funds will be used toward the new station.
