Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will support efforts to prepare North Carolina public nonprofit hospitals to leverage $6.1 million in funding from the Federal Communications Commission to establish a high speed, dedicated, broadband network connecting public nonprofit hospitals across North Carolina. The work should also assist public nonprofit hospitals prepare to access stimulus funding available for early adoption of electronic medical records. In addition, the program is expected to lead to the creation of jobs in the healthcare and information technology sectors.
