Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to develop new disease resistant dogwood varieties specifically designed for the southeast region. The project leaders will select native dogwoods with excellent disease resistance and use these varieties in a breeding program to develop new hybrids with expanded commercial potential. These new varieties will then be made available to the North Carolina nursery industry.
