Description:

This Golden LEAF grant provides funding to the Carteret Community College Foundation to expand Carteret Community College’s (CCC) culinary programs by equipping a new culinary/hospitality facility on CCC campus. The more than $5 million facility is funded by State bond funds received by CCC and support from Carteret County. It will be outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment that will enable CCC to provide better training for professionals for the industry and provide a site for in-service training for current culinary and hospitality workers. CCC anticipates that enrollment in culinary/hospitality curriculum programs will double and that CCC will provide in-service training to an additional 200 individuals annually. CCC has been able to place nearly all of the program graduates in positions in the field Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase equipment for the new facility.
