Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to improve the market for organic grains by increasing the number of North Carolina farms producing organic grains, increasing the profitability of organic grains on North Carolina farms already producing organic grains, expanding the organic grain market by increasing the number of organically certified grain producers in North Carolina, assisting farmers in gaining access to federal cost share programs, and facilitating the certification of at least one organic feed mill and one soybean crusher.
