Description:

There has been a recent increase in the demand for lettuce produced in North Carolina. This project will meet that demand by researching the best performing lettuce cultivars, establishing schedules for transplanting and direct seedings, and analyzing issues related to fertilization, diseases, weeds, and pests. Research will also include cabbage. Work will take place across the state, and will involve both North Carolina State University and North Carolina A & T.
