Description:

The purpose of this grant is to fund a workforce training program for young adults from the Bertie County area. The training is sponsored by The Place of Possibilities in cooperation with Glenoit Mills in Tarboro, NC and the NCSU College of Textiles and builds on prior entrepreneurial training efforts provided in the community by the College of Textiles. Participants learn about the textile manufacturing process, small business management, and technology through classes and rotating internships. The program will create opportunities for employment at local employers, through contract work, or through small business development.
