Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Scotland County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) to construct a new business incubator facility. The facility with focus on manufacturing businesses. The SCEDC has secured $800,000 in funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration for the business incubator. Businesses that participate in the incubator program would locate their start-up or expanding manufacturing operation in the incubator building and develop and grow their operation for a period of 3-5 years, when typically, they will move to a larger building and expand their workforce. This project will also complement the local entrepreneurship training that will begin in conjunction with the incubator space construction.
