Description:

This grant provides funding to Alamance Community College (ACC) to purchase an automation training system to offer hands-on training in the field of mechatronics (mechanical / electronics). A survey of advanced manufacturing companies in Alamance County anticipated there would be 200 positions over the next five years requiring the targeted skill sets of the mechatronics program. Over 100 MET positions are expected to be filled in five years as a result of this project. ACC will use Golden LEAF funding to purchase and install training equipment and support instructor training.
