Description:

The purpose of this grant is to assist Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation with support for its Going G.L.O.B.A.L. initiative that includes: 1) equipping each K-12 classroom with an interactive whiteboard; 2) installing wireless infrastructure in each school; 3) providing a laptop for each K-12 certified staff member; and 4) providing each student in grades 6-12 with a laptop. Middle and high school administrators and teachers have been planning and pursuing professional development in anticipation of this project since 2009. Golden LEAF funds would be used to pay for a portion of the cost of providing student laptops.
