Description:

Pender County is providing disaster relief and assistance to residents throughout the county. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund will be used to provide rental assistance through the Pender County Housing Department. Priority will be given to low income families. Pender County has also partnered with the Baptists on Mission and Team Rubicon to assist with home repairs throughout the county. The volunteer organizations provided a list of needed supplies including work gloves, insulation, sheetrock mud, and eye protection. These organizations also identified a need for portable restrooms at job sites. The county has also identified a need to remove debris from mucked out homes. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund will be used to purchase these supplies, rent portable restrooms, and support debris removal. Up to $3,000 will be used for leased warehouse space to support home repair efforts.
