Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to support research that will help North Carolina farmers meet the growing demand for locally grown hops by evaluating the best performing hop cultivars, identifying promising areas for hop production, and analyzing key issues related to nutrition and disease and pest control. If they can be grown successfully in North Carolina, hops may provide a high value crop for North Carolina farmers.
