Description:

The purpose of this grant is to create the Marine Corp Museum of the Carolinas, a permanent home for the documentation, study, and preservation of Marine Corps history in the Carolinas and the local communities that have supported its bases since 1941. The $16 million, 40,000 sq.ft. museum will be located in downtown Jacksonville. It is expected to draw 150,000-200,000 new visitors per year and provide 10-14 direct jobs.
