Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will provide funding to the City of Graham to extend Melville Commerce Parkway, a public road located in the North Carolina Commerce Park in Alamance County. The German retailer Lidl is considering locating an east coast headquarters and distribution center at the Park. Lidl expects to invest $150,000,000 in the project and would create 80 full-time jobs with an average annual salary of $80,000 plus benefits. The company also plans to create 120 part-time and seasonal jobs. The road is needed to provide redundant access to the site and will serve several other properties. The Golden LEAF grant will complement local and state funding for the project.
