Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding support to the Wilkes Dental Consortium for the purchase of a new mobile dental clinic that will replace an aging unit that has been in service since 2001. The mobile clinic is well established and provides dental care for those with income or transportation barriers. By also treating adults, the project decreases visits to local emergency rooms, provides relief to suffering patients and provides preventive care to all ages. After replacing the unit, the Dental Consortium will continue to treat children at area elementary schools, and expand care to adults at nursing homes and area businesses.
