Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will allow the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center to provide short-term emergency bridge loans to small businesses and farms recovering from damages suffered during Hurricane Matthew. Borrowers will use loan funds to address immediate needs as they complete applications to pursue long-term disaster relief loans from the Small Business Administration. Applications will involve a simplified loan process designed to provide quick eligibility determinations and access to loans funds. The program is expected to attract loan capital from other sources to expand the availability of loans. Golden LEAF funds will be used for loan capital and for operating support.
