The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Onslow County Public Schools to establish STEM centers in four middle schools that currently do not have STEM programs, update the STEM centers in the three existing middle school labs, and create two health science labs and one STEM lab in two high schools. The project will serve approximately 1,300 middle school students and 990 high school students through STEM courses or participation in designated career training pathways over a two-year period. The project will ensure that Onslow County students are equipped with the necessary education, technical, critical-thinking, and social skills needed to achieve their college and career goals. Funds will be used for STEM center setup, project development, and curriculum modules.
