Description:

Johnston CC received assistance from Golden LEAF to purchase Computer Numeric Machining (CIM) equipment and tooling to enhance training capabilities of the college and increase student throughput. The equipment is needed at the college so that it has the capacity to provide advanced, multi-axis training in CIM and increase program completion rates above the current 12 graduates per year. Johnston County Industries will partner with JCC by providing internships for JCC students resulting in work-based experiences in a production setting. Informal surveys with 3 local companies indicate 65 jobs to be created by 2014. Funds may be used to purchase equipment, tooling and supplies.
