Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funds to the Town of Pilot Mountain to up-fit training space at the Pilot Center. The Pilot Center is a collaborative effort between the Town, Surry Community College, and Pilot Mountain Pride that provides workforce training for the citizens of the County and serves a processing and distribution center for local farmers. Improvements would include two new classrooms and a multiuse shop area for technical and trades skills training. The new space would allow the College to provide 26 new courses per year serving nearly 400 additional students and support training opportunities for farmers. The College has identified strong demand for training from local industries.
