The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Henderson County Public Schools to help create a digital learning environment to improve instruction through personalized learning. During this project, teachers will receive professional development from the Friday Institute and from internal staff. The grantee will expand the scope of its current high school pilot initiative to middle schools. The project compliments prior work of the district and Blue Ridge CC to establish career pathways in advanced manufacturing and healthcare and aligns the NC Department of Commerce’s STAR Job Report for the Western Region Prosperity Zone, which forecasts growth in healthcare and advanced manufacturing fields. Golden LEAF funds will be used for professional development and training costs.
