Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the City of Burlington to construct water and wastewater infrastructure to serve Sheetz, Inc., which is locating a food manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution facility at an industrial park. The expansion will also provide sewer access to approximately 100 additional acres of land that is currently vacant but zoned industrial. The water line extension will serve an additional 200 acres. Sheetz’ projected capital investment for the project is $30-$35 million. It will create 253 new jobs by December 31, 2018 with an average annual wage of $29,092 plus benefits including at least 50% of the cost of employee-only health insurance.
