Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Randolph Hospital to open the PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) center, StayWell Senior Care, designed to serve the elderly of Randolph, Montgomery and Moore counties. PACE serves individuals who are age 55 or older, certified by their state to need nursing home care, and are able to live safely in the community at the time of enrollment. StayWell Senior Care will offer a variety of services through an interdisciplinary team at the PACE center. The project is expected to create 45 new jobs with an average salary of $50,000 at the PACE center and to add 20 employees with an average salary of $22,000 for related home care services, all by the end of 2015. Golden LEAF funds will be used for rehabilitation equipment and for IT equipment.
