Description:

The Bald Head Island Conservancy (BHIC) is a 501(c)(3) environmental research and education nonprofit. Wind-driven rain during Hurricane Florence damaged the roofs of several buildings and caused water to enter the buildings. This intrusion combined with loss of power for several weeks caused significant mold growth. Windows at the dormitory building were also damaged by the high winds. Golden LEAF disaster recovery grant funds will be used to replace damaged windows at the dormitory and to repair the upstairs conference room.
