Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Rockingham County Schools (RCS) to support initiation of a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway in manual machining. In partnership with the City of Reidsville and Rockingham Community College, RCS plans to offer the program at Reidsville High School, providing students the opportunity to take college-level courses to obtain a certificate in manual machining while also taking required high school courses. The proposed program is designed to prepare students for employment and/or to matriculate into the Computer Integrated Machining Program at Rockingham Community College. RCS anticipates enrolling a minimum of eight student each semester. Golden LEAF funds will be used for equipment, tools and facility improvements.
