Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Northeast Academy for Aerospace and Advanced Technologies (NEAAAT) to outfit a permanent facility capable of housing the school at full enrollment and supporting STEM career development programs. With assistance from USDA, NEAAAT plans to purchase and renovate a portion of Southgate Park for educational use. The project is expected to directly impact 600 students and families across seven northeast counties. Golden LEAF funding will be used for capital improvements and to purchase the equipment, furniture, and instructional supplies necessary to support coursework and training programs that are aligned with industry workforce demands in northeastern North Carolina.
