Description:

The purpose of this grant is to assist Fayetteville Technical Community College with starting a new workforce training initiative that aims to target separating and retired military personnel for workforce training program that will lead to Federal Aviation Administration certification in Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) systems. FTCC will provide A&P training that is customized to ensure that participants have the necessary skills to secure local employment opportunities that area companies have identified as a need. Golden LEAF funds will be utilized to purchase the equipment required to implement the A&P certification program and to hire a consultant/instructor to assist FTCC in planning and implementing the initial phases of the program. FTCC intends to grow the program into a 2-year curriculum program to meet growing demands in the BRAC region and across the state.
