Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to provide funding to Wayne Community College to support of a workforce development project that will allow the College to offer multiple, ‘stackable,’ industry-recognized training and credentialing in two applied technologies programs – industrial systems and electronics. The training is targeted at eligible high schools students, incumbent workers, unemployed or underemployed persons, separating military, and women interested in non-traditional occupations. The project aims to improve the education and employment outcomes for those who may not be interested in completing a typical post-secondary education. Equipment purchases and classroom renovations will allow the college to offer a new Certified Educational Robot Training (CERT) certification.
