This grant provides funding to the City of Shelby to construct new sewer infrastructure to serve the Cleveland County-owned Washburn Switch Industrial Park. Project Grizzly will create 175 new jobs with an average annual wage of $41,061, compared to the county average of $36,608, over the next three years. The company is also expected to make a $330 million capital investment. The company considered whether to locate the expansion in North Carolina or in Idaho.
