The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Wilson Economic Development Council for engineering and construction costs related to the extension of a water line to a future 830-acre corporate park in eastern Wilson County at the intersection of US264 and NC58 in Wilson. The property was purchased by the Wilson EDC in 2010. Golden LEAF funds will be used to design the initial infrastructure of the Woodard Park project, including water and sewer, and to construct the water line from Charleston Street to Woodard Parkway which will improve growth and expand potential for mixed-use development along Martin Luther King Boulevard (NC58) from Charleston Street to US264.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
Please contact a staff member with any questions.
