Mark Sorrells joined the staff of Golden LEAF in May of 2001 as vice president of programs. In 2004, he was promoted to senior vice president. Mark assists the president with day to day operations and works across a number of grant programs overseeing all the Foundation’s education and workforce preparedness applications and grants. In addition, he has led several special grant initiatives including digital learning, STEM, aviation and advanced manufacturing workforce training initiatives. During his tenure at Golden LEAF, Mark has served on several statewide boards and commissions. Currently, he is a member of the Public School Forum and NC Association of School Leadership Development boards of directors.
Mark holds an M.B.A. and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee. He is expected to complete a Doctor of Educational Leadership degree from East Carolina University in the spring of 2018.
